Less than 1 week to go...

Is time speeding up? It feels like the days are flying by.

Packing is happening little by little. Last night I wrapped some new presents for the kids to open on the plane.  Andrew of course trumped this by buying two ipads.

We have been watching Australian movies to get in the mood (Muriels Wedding, The Year my Voice Broke, Strictly Ballroom and (tonight) The Man from Snowy River)

I thought I would read an Oz book as well so I have started the tome "The Fatal Shore" by Robert Hughes. Early Australian life was ghastly but thankfully things are different now.

So I guess this is the last blog post until August.  Follow along on FB or twitter for updates.

Less than 2 weeks to go...

We are busy packing and getting ready to travel.

At the moment we are focusing on getting winter clothes ready (trickier than you might think given recent growth spurts) and determining electronic needs/wants.

The itinerary is being finalised so check out pinterest for the Sydney board.

We have two weeks of swimming lessons starting tomorrow, various doctor appointments and a wedding the night before we leave (yay Betsy and Geoff!)

So to get us in the mood for travel, here's our Hawaiian playlist:

Lucy particularly likes Honolulu Lulu and Pineapple Princess!

Bike riding

After a couple of false starts during the week (flat tires, pedals falling off etc) we finally got to go for a proper bike ride on Sunday.

Henry and Felicity rode in the burley (they had helmets on which Flissy did not like at all)

Lucy rode her (now-too-small) bike.  She tried to go without training wheels but she has no balance so Andrew had to jog along beside her!

Blueberry & Strawberry picking

On Saturday we went blueberry and strawberry picking.  The blueberries are mid season whilst the strawberries are nearly over.  The good news is that the blackberries have just started and should be sweet by next week.

I think Lucy ate more blueberries than went into her bucket.

Memorial Day camping

Over the Memorial Day long weekend Lucy, Henry and Andrew camped out in the backyard for 3 nights.  Felicity tried it out one night but DID NOT LIKE IT!
[Which meant that I had to sleep inside with her :) ]

We ate gourmet pizzas (5 cheese and 5 mushroom pizzas) and of course s'mores.

We also found 2 rat snakes in yard which Andrew promptly beheaded.
