Memorial Day long weekend

We had a very quiet long weekend. In fact we really didn't do much at all except hang out at home and watch some French Open tennis.

On Saturday Andrew, Lucy and Henry went to Lowes hardware store for their craft project. This week it was a bi-plane which both kids thought was super exciting.

On Sunday we went to church.

On Monday Andrew, Lucy and Henry headed to Lewis Farms where they picked strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. They are so delicious and sweet. It was pretty hot and dirty work so they all enjoyed some strawberry ice cream afterwards!

In between there was a little bit of gardening done, some sewing, some work on the kids room ....

Our veggie garden is starting to produce! The beans are first. So crisp and delicious. See below.

Family Update

We are all doing well and we are now one month in to being a family of five!

Lucy and Henry love Felicity so much and enjoy playing with her on her activity mat. But they both especially love to hold her and kiss her. Henry is still learning to be gentle (he has headbutted her and punched her stomach)

On the weekend we attended our first graduation party in the US. We headed to the Lingenfelters to witness Claire's highschool graduation followed by a pig pickin'. Lucy and Henry enjoyed seeing the goats, horses and chickens whilst Felicity was passed around for lots of cuddles.

Our post-baby meal schedule has just finished (though there may be one or two more meals coming in). We had 16 dinners delivered to us by our wonderful Wilmington friends over the past 4 weeks. It has been so great but now I am back to the reality of working out whats for dinner. Thankfully there are still a lot of frozen meals that I made pre-baby. We celebrated our first weekday cook with a lamb roast!

Henry has been waking up a lot at night lately. We switched him back to lactose-free milk after a week's trial with regular milk. Hopefully he'll settle down soon. We also have bunk beds arriving next week! Everyone is excited about this. We just have to work out a way to stop Henry from climbing the ladder.

Three weeks of preschool left this year. CBS bible study has already finished. We are approaching a 3 month summer with no scheduled activities.

Lucy's 5th birthday

Lucy has the best birthdays!! Not only did she have her flamingo party with her friends a few weeks ago, she also had lots of celebrations and p
resents with her family this week.

On Tuesday Adnrew took the day off work to spend time with Lucy. In the morning he took her to the beach to go boogie boarding and then they stopped off for lunch and ice cream at Kornerstone pizza (olives, pineapple and prosciutto) and Fuzzy Peach yoghurt bar.
In the afternoon he played 'birthday party' with her and her many soft toys before he fell asleep on the lounge.

Later in the evening Andrew lit a fire in the pizza oven and we enjoyed s'mores (toasted marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched between graham crackers) Then Andrew, Lucy and Henry camped out overnight in the backyard. At 10pm no one was asleep and there were some harsh words!

Early in the morning everyone was awake! Whilst enjoying bacon and eggs Lucy started opening presents. She was very happy to discover a doll's house from her mum and dad, dolls from Felicity and a board game from Henry!

For dinner Lucy requested gyoza (pork potstickers) so we had a Chinese feast followed by the specially requested lemon bundt cake.

I am all-birthdayed-out.

Easter

Although we had a newborn arrive in the middle of our Easter week and things were a little crazy, Felicity just added an additional reason to be joyful.

Here are some of the things we did:
- each day for 12 days we hid the resurrection eggs. by the end of the time Henry was quite good at finding them. The highlight was eating the bread each day hidden in the first one
- each day for 7 days we lit candles and read bible stories about Easter
- Andrew made a cross for the front yard which we put up on Good Friday
- Lucy made a 'He is Risen!' sign and we put it on the cross on Easter Sunday
- Lucy decorated a box for our Easter books
- We learned a bible verse by heart (John 11:25-26)
- We ate strawberry hot cross buns from Panera
- We went to church on Easter Sunday (Felicity's first Sunday, first church service and first Easter Sunday all rolled into one)
- On Easter Sunday the kids got Easter baskets
